Not all dreams come through but Marriage is one of the few that we are sure of its reality. Every lady cannot wait to wake up to the reality of having a family to care for while every man is anxious about how to be 'man enough' to put food on the table without failing. It is usually a combination of excitement and anxiety for everyone.
Everyone wants to dream... sweet dreams... but there are times we also want to stay awake because we are afraid to have... Nightmares... To avoid nightmares, we have all become Hunters.
It is amazing how we look up to God in choosing a marriage partner despite the fact that we make lots of decisions in life without considering God's will. My guess is that it is due to marriage being a lifetime institute we cannot graduate from. Marriage is a good or bad choice we will have to live to enjoy or regret till we die. We have become scrutineers because of our desire for a 'Happily Ever After' ending.
A Nigerian (Yoruba) Adage says ' marriage is shopping in the dark, it is when you get home you will see what you have gotten'. For this reason we all have criteria for choosing a partner varying from physical appearance, religious belief, family background, financial status and ambition. We all have the definition of what we want and we believe that what we want is what God wants for us.
But is it possible to know God's Will in marriage when we do not know God's Will in other simpler things like what we should study, where to work, where to live etc.?
