It
is easier to see what we do not have than to see what we have. Often time it is
because we believe that what we do not have is what we need to have to see the
results we desire. However this is not true.
God
is not interested in what you do not have; He is interested in what you have.
With what you have you can achieve anything even more than as much as you think
you would achieve with what you do not have.
Let
me make it simpler with biblical examples of how God used what people have to
achieve what they believe they can only achieve if they have what they do not
have at the moment.
John
6:1-15 spoke about how Jesus fed Five Thousand (5000) Men. Jesus Christ was
faced with a huge responsibility of feeding 5000 men with wife (ves) and
Children. Notice that Jesus Christ did not ask “How are we going to feed this
people?” rather He asked “Where shall we buy bread for this people to eat?”
When He asked this question, Philip responded by reminding Jesus that they do
not have what is takes (over 8 months wages) to feed these people.
Philip
was absolutely right; they cannot feed those people but his contribution did not
help the situation a bit until Andrew came with what they have at that time; 5
loaves of bread and 2 fish. Andrew was able to identify what they have but he
was unable to fathom how they can use it to feed all of those people.
What
are the Two (2) Ways to use what you have to get what you want?
- Thank God for what you have.
- Use what you have
It
was not only Jesus that used this principle; Elisha used it (2 Kings 4:42-44),
Jehoshaphat also used what they have (Praise) to win the battle and there are
so many other biblical examples. God is able to make all grace abound to you,
so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound
in every good work (2 Corinthians 9:8). What you have is all you need to be
fulfilled in life.
Have a splendid week.
