I was just wandering why I kept
doing the things I had never wanted to do again because after doing those
things, I feel unattractive to the Grace of God.
I have been thought that
determination will not do the magic but only Grace could set me free from this
‘thing’ that easily entangles me. Only Grace could set me free from self
righteousness. Only Grace could take me to the everlasting realm I longed to
live through holiness and refined righteousness.
So I began to consciously look
out for Grace. I thought that Grace was a knowledge I needed to attain. I tried
to apply the principle of Grace. I forgot that Grace is a function of the
Spirit and not of the flesh. I tried to apply Grace to my human reasoning but I
ended up becoming my own grace. The inevitable result was that I got more
entangled.
If you have ever felt this way,
you are not an alien.
It is a sign that we need to go
back to our foundational class about repentance and forgiveness to enjoy and
explore what Grace offers us.
What is Repentance?
Repentance is a change of mind
for the better, heartily amending your ways with abhorrence of your past sins.
You have truly repented when
these three things stated above are coherent.
Repentance is the first step into
salvation.
God offers you an agreement that
states that all your sins will be forgiven provided you change your lifestyle
(repent). When you accept this agreement and signed, you are forgiven of all
your sins but you must not breach the contract because if you do there is legal
implication (Romans 2: 4-8, The Message Version simply slewed it). The truth is
God owes us nothing at all but because he is God, He freely drafted this
agreement for us to sign through Jesus for us not to be eternally condemned. Do
we deserve it? NO. It is a Gift from God (Act 5:31).
The proof of repentance is in
your everyday life. You need to change your life and not your skin. You only
have business with God and not man so the way people view you means absolutely nothing
to God. Live everyday in consciousness of what you have received from God. Let
your life proof your change of heart (Matthew 3:8).
God wants every one of us to come
into repentance and forgiveness. He is patient with us because he wants us all
to enjoy eternity with Him (2 Peter 3:9) but don’t take His patience for
granted (Romans 2:4-8).
Let us grow beyond the stage of
repentance because there is so much more to be explored in God (Hebrew 6:1-3).
Keep trusting in his Grace and you will be free from sin.
Your word have i hidden in my heart that i might not sin against thee
