Matthew 4:1 states, " Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil"
When I saw this, I quickly opened to the Lord's prayer... '...lead us not into temptation...'
Immediately, I found myself opening to James 1:13 which states, "When tempted, no-one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone.."
Did I get you confused? James is actually right about that statement, the devil is the one that tempts people and not God.
But my question is...Can the Holy Spirit lead us to be tempted by the devil like He did Jesus?
If yes, Why?
