What am I doing??? Final Part

Worship is the definition of what God is worth to us.

Worship is a lifestyle.

Worship is the act of sacrificing what is most precious to us.

Worship is the act of pleasing God.

Worship is the full expression of Love.

There are lots of definitions of worship and I can just keep going non- stop.
These definitions make it sound so simple and easy but honestly speaking, as easy as it seems a lot of us do not…I mean…DO NOT worship God. Yes! We have beautiful angelic voices that can calm a storm, we can speak in tongues and the dead will rise, we can pray and night will turn to day, we can do a whole lot of stuffs that makes us feel  we have had or rather we have quality worship.

But the fact remains that we are just having a date with God…and we are yet to define our relationship with Him. We have not yet entered into an intimate relationship. We are yet to be committed to God. We are simply having an affair with God. Nailing it on the head...we are cheating with God on our flesh.

We love the SELF in us more than we love God. We do not want to let go of the desire and passion that burn in us. We always want God to understand that ‘I am married to my flesh, I love You but I just can’t break up with my flesh…why? Because it is my flesh’.

We forget that God is Worth our life. After all, He gave it to us because He loves us and He seriously was hoping we would get along very well.

Revelation 4:10-11(NIV) says;
‘The twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."’

Worship is laying down our crown (achievements, fame, titles, career, life etc) or those little idols we have made for ourselves for God.

Until now, I never realized what Jesus meant when He told the Samaritan woman “…God is spirit and His worshipers must worship in Spirit and in Truth” (NIV John 4:24).

Worshiping in Spirit is not speaking in tongues my dear.

Worshiping in Spirit is defined in Romans 12:1(NIV) which says ‘Therefore, I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God- this is your spiritual act of worship

You cannot worship in the Spirit except you have been sanctified by the Truth. ‘Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth (John 17:17 NIV).

‘And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit…’ (Ephesians 1:13).

He chose to give us birth through the word of truth that we might be a kind of first fruits of all he created. (James 1:18)

The conclusion of the whole matter is that you cannot have a quality worth-ship without having Christ which is the word of God that represents the Truth.

And without the Truth you cannot be sanctified (Holy) which is the prerequisite for the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Also, without the Holy Spirit you cannot Love God enough to lay down the most valuable possession (Crown) - Your Life.

Without laying down your life you cannot please God.

And if you do not give your life, you will lose it.

So, decide today to enjoy quality worship henceforth.

Thank you for your time.

What am I doing??? Part 2

Sincerely, I really want to do it right.
I want to do it in a way no one has ever done it before.
I want it to be romantic…

…The way I have imagined making my spouse beam with gladness at the slightest thought of me.

Bringing him pleasure…hmmm… ok... let's go straight to the point.

The English word "worship" comes from two Old English words: weorth, which means "worth," and scipe or ship, which means something like shape or "quality."

We can see the Old English word -ship in modern words like friendship and sportsmanship – that’s the quality of being a friend, or the quality of being a good sport.

So worth-ship is the quality of having worth or of being worthy.
When we worship, we are saying that God has worth, that he is worthy. Worship means to declare worth, to attribute worth (www.gci.org/God/worship).

What does God Worth to you? A House? A career? A Spouse? A child? A piece of jewel?

What am I doing???

I closed my eyes so tight, raised my hands as far as I could possibly stretch it. On bended knees tears dropped from my eyes as I raised my voice until I can only hear myself sing “Hosanna!!! In the highest…”

I can feel the presence of God in the church auditorium. It blows on the bare skin at my neck. It feels like a gentle wind.

I could not hold it back as I began speaking in tongues at the top of my voice. I competed with the sound from the speaker. I want God to receive my worship before anyone else.

After the music ended, the worship ended.

That was when I realized that the gentle wind was from the Industrial Fan, blowing from the back of the auditorium.

And the question popped in… What is Worship?
