Yes … be perfect. Stop believing that ‘nobody’ is perfect
because you are human and cannot but make mistakes every now and then. Stop
justifying your imperfection with your languid spiritual lifestyle. It is
easier to give excuses than to take necessary actions towards living a perfect
life.
Yes…stop depending on your knowledge and determination to be
perfect although it seems to be the right thing to do…this are basic rules of
this world that you should be dead to because you are with Christ and you do
all thing through Christ that is in you… in short… by GRACE. Colossians 2:20-23.
Be perfect is an action word… an instruction… a direction… a
life purpose.
Jesus Christ wouldn’t have said it in Matthew 5:48 if it is
impossible.
Perfect
literarily mean to be ‘without fault’ or ‘complete’ or ‘whole’. To different
people perfection means different thing as it relates to the scope of usage.
But right here and now, we are talking ‘God Perfection’.
“be perfect, therefore,
as your heavenly Father is perfect” Matthew 5:48 NIV
How will you know how to be perfect as our heavenly Father,
if you don’t know the ‘heavenly Father’? It is unthinkable.
How can you know the ‘Heavenly Father’?
Knowing the Heavenly Father means the Heavenly Father knows
you. You can know the president of the United State of America but if the
President does not know you, you cannot boast outside that you know the
President because knowing the President the way you do is the same way every
other person does know the President. It makes no difference.
“But now that you know
God- or rather are known by God…” Galatians
4:9
Knowing God is another topic for another day.
But my point is if you do not know God enough for God to know
you, you can- NOT attain the perfection Christ tells us to attain.
Oh! What manna of love the Father has bestowed unto us that
we should be called the Sons of God.
Son-ship is 'God Perfection'.
