Be Strong

We all have something we are afraid of at one point or the other of our lives. Some of us have fear of the future, our health, our finance, our safety, our career, our academics and even viruses like Ebola. At the same time some of us are afraid of men; our boss, our friends, our siblings, our parents, our lecturers etc. Also, some are afraid to fail, to make mistakes, to step out, to voice opinions, to face the crowd etc. What is your FEAR?

The Gentle Whisper

Imagine everyone speaking at the same time
Imagine everyone wants an immediate response
Imagine everyone looking up to Just One person to answer
Imagine no one paying attention to the One with the answer
Imagine the anguish of those who desperately wants to be heard;
The louder they speak, the lesser they can hear themselves
Imagine no one ready to wait quietly to hear the voice of the One they all earnestly sought
And suddenly something strange happened

Closer Than You Think

I had an interesting experience this past week that I would like to share with you. I am a member of a group of young people who work and live to impact those around them positively. I have been a part of this group for about six years. Every year we embark on projects and attend annual competition with other schools in the country.

ENACTUS (Entrepreneurial Action Us) is the best group to belong  as a student, business person or a graduate. Most of the Alumni discovered their potential as a member of this group and they are doing exploit in their various field. Even our Business Advisory Board members find fulfillment and purpose working with us.

LOVE- ‘FEELING’ OR ‘CHOICE’

“You know that tingly feeling you get when you like someone, that’s common sense leaving your body”.
When I saw this statement as a ‘DP’ (Display Picture) on one of my BBM Contacts, I laughed and almost cracked my ribs because I cannot but imagine the number of times common sense has crept out of my body.
Thanks to M&B, Hollywood, Nollywood, Bollywood and all the ‘woods’ you can think about, that have successfully made common sense no longer common in this generation. We have seen too much of Cinderella, Pretty Woman, Maid in Manhattan, Wedding Planner etc such that we believe in ‘Love at First Sight’,  ‘Prince Charming’ and ‘Knight in Black Shining Armor’ that will rescue us from the Dragon of loneliness and we will live happily ever after. What a Dream.
So many people enter into relationships believing that it will also end exactly the way we see it in the movies. This is why so many people are not happy in their relationships.

GOLIATH WITH THE GOLDEN FEET

With every opportunity comes challenges and in every challenge there are opportunities. From this statement, it shows that an opportunity creates more opportunities through challenges.
You may never be able to explore all these potential opportunities if all you see are the challenges involved. Your challenge can be a stepping stone if you climb courageously and can as well be a stumbling block if you are afraid to climb. A very close friend once told me that his mum tells him that if the devil is not bothered about you then you have nothing to offer, it means he (devil) already has you. It simply means the devil has already defeated you and thus you are not of interest to him.

3 Ways to Dress To Church

Have you ever entered a church and you had to go outside to check the signage again to confirm if you are in the right place? well... it has not happened to me yet but it might happen soon due to the simple fact that so many people get confused about what to wear and what not to wear to church.

Picking out what to wear to church is challenging because there is no specific mode of dressing. And a lot of churches today do not address this issue because the church should be able to accommodate all kinds of people. But accommodating everyone should not make us lose our identity as a group of people that is identified with Christ.

So I decided to share with you 3 (Three) ways to dress to church every Service day.

Frank Talk: Why am I a Christian?

I have come to realize that so many Christians today live a life devoid of purpose. This is most likely due to the way we were introduced to Christianity; as a family religion, as acceptable religion and as a social gathering.

Fellowship has lost its real essence probably due to the view of the church as a place; to meet people, while away time on a Sunday, to gain cheap fame by display of talents, to sought credible marriage partner, to get miracles, to display wealth etc.

Nobody ever wrote down a plan to be broke, fat, lazy, or stupid. Those things are what happen when you don’t have a plan.” (Larry Winget). Nobody ever wrote down to be miserable on earth and decompose in hell. That is what happens if you don’t have a purpose for being a Christian (Paraphrased by me).

Don’t you think it is better to live the way you want with the mindset of going to hell than to live a life of restriction on earth (pretending to be who you are not) and still go to hell? Frankly, I think it deserves our thought time. If you are neither cold nor hot, you have no place with God (Revelation 3: 15-16). Do not be the reason God’s name will be blasphemed (Romans 2: 24).

You need to know why you are a Christian to live like a Christian.
